Fahan School offers a comprehensive Pre-Kinder program for girls and boys aged 3 - 5 years.
Lady Gowrie Tasmania, in partnership with Fahan School, operates a unique and innovative education and care program, based on the principles of Reggio Emilia, within the school grounds for children from three to five years of age. This small, boutique education and care program for girls and boys prepares children for the first years of school.
In keeping with Fahan School and Lady Gowrie Tasmania's early childhood learning philosophies, the program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood learning based on children’s play interests and discovery through a self-guided curriculum. Pre-Kinder at Fahan offers a multiplicity of ways for children to collaborate, think, and construct their own knowledge of the world around them through play based educational experiences including music, art, storytelling and movement, as well as excursions in the local community.
This unique program operates on the Fahan School grounds enabling the children access to the school facilities and extra-curricular activities, including the Travers Morphett Junior Library, play equipment, gardens and the Early Learning Centre Artist-In-Residence. Children also participate in many Junior School activities including time with visiting specialists and the annual Book Week celebrations. The Pre-Kinder program is designed and implemented by qualified, experienced and dedicated educators from Lady Gowrie Tasmania and staff ratios, which are above the minimum standard, ensure the needs of all children in the program are met.
The Pre-Kinder program operates Monday to Friday from 8.00am until 6.00pm and you may also choose an 8.00am until 3.00pm session. Lady Gowrie Tasmania also offers After School Care for Fahan School students in Prep to Year 6 Monday to Friday from 3.00pm until 6.00pm.
