On leaving Fahan School students become a member of the Fahan Alumni for life.
The Fahan School Alumni Association (FSAA) is dedicated to fostering lifelong connections among past students, ensuring that being a Fahan girl extends beyond the school years. Through our vibrant alumni network, we create meaningful opportunities for mentoring, networking, and reconnecting with friends, no matter where life takes you. FSAA also plays an active role in supporting the School, helping to preserve the unique character and traditions that make Fahan special.
Our mission is to keep alumni engaged with the School and with each other, whether through local and international events, online communities, or mentoring initiatives. FSAA is committed to strengthening these ties by finding new ways to communicate with alumni of all ages, encouraging participation in annual events, and maintaining our role as a valuable resource for the School and its future generations. Above all, we cherish the joy of shared experiences, common stories, and the lifelong friendships formed at Fahan.
A Legacy of Connection
The FSAA traces its roots back to September 22, 1940, when nine of Fahan’s 14 Old Scholars came together to form the Fahan Old Scholars’ Association. These pioneering women met fortnightly to support the war effort by knitting for the Comforts Fund, while also raising funds for refugee relief by selling sweets and programmes at School plays. They even initiated the very first ‘grudge match,’ challenging current students in tennis and hockey—establishing a tradition of spirited competition that continues today.
In 2009, the association rebranded as the Fahan School Alumni Association, embracing both ‘old girls’ and ‘old boys’ within its ranks. This dedicated group of alumni remains passionate about ensuring that past students continue to feel connected to their alma mater, no matter where life takes them. Our history is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Fahan community, as chronicled in Gillian Winter’s book, Sixty Years of Endeavour, Fahan 1935-1995.
