Suzie hails from the UK, initially growing up outside London and then moving to the wilds of Yorkshire in her teenage years. She gained a degree in Classics and English at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and headed off to Greece to teach English as a foreign language to students, visiting many of the places of historic interest from her undergraduate study.

Coming back to the UK a couple of years later, Suzie completed her post-graduate teaching degree with Manchester Metropolitan University and then began full time English and History teaching in local high schools.     

When a friend moved to Cornwall, after many visits, Suzie felt the allure of the Cornish beaches and beautiful coastal walks.  She took up a job teaching English in Truro for several years. While in Cornwall, Suzie discovered a love of sailing, taking part in regular races in Falmouth and enjoyed longer crewing stints to the Channel Islands and northern France. 

Having moved to Tasmania ten years ago, Suzie switched course to become a Learning Support teacher, and she has relished applying different learning styles to suit neurodiverse students.  Now at working three days a week at Fahan School, Suzie will primarily be taking literacy classes to girls in the Junior School.

Suzie is bringing up two young sons in Howden is and loves time spent with them on the beach or at home in the garden.  Playing and teaching traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, France and further afield on whistles and concertina is a passion for Suzie. 

As well as delivering enrichment programmes for gifted and talented students, Suzie has worked in many schools to promote differentiated learning, creating resources that allow all students to succeed.

Suzie believes that we may find and delight in the strengths within each individual.
