Year 12 Quiz Night Raises Almost $22,000 for Charities

More than 110 guests attended the Fahan School Year 12 Quiz Night and Silent Auction on Saturday 16 May, helping raise almost $22,000 for the Year 12 chosen charities, Variety the Children’s Charity TAS Freya Fund and Butterfly Foundation.

The event brought together students, families, staff and community members for a fun and highly competitive evening, with quiz teams enjoying a night of trivia, games, auctions and fundraising activities.

Led entirely by the Year 12 cohort, students worked hard behind the scenes to plan and run the event, coordinating everything from food preparation and event logistics to auctions, games and guest hospitality. The evening was a wonderful reflection of the teamwork, initiative and community spirit of the cohort.

A significant contributor to the success of the event was the incredible generosity shown by local businesses and families, who donated a wide range of prizes, auction items and experiences in support of the fundraiser.

Funds raised from the evening will directly support the important work of Variety the Children’s Charity TAS Freya Fund and Butterfly Foundation, two organisations chosen by the Year 12 students for the valuable support they provide to young people and families facing significant challenges.
