On Thursday 7 March, members of the Nateby Club came together to enjoy a High Tea in the Orangery Conservatory at Riversdale Estate, a stunning estate that overlooks picturesque Pitt Water in the Coal River Valley.
As the first Nateby Club gathering of the year, the group embraced the opportunity to reunite, sharing stories and reminiscing while enjoying decadent cakes, pastries and a selection of fine teas. Set atop a sprawling vineyard, the venue provided a magnificent backdrop for all to enjoy.
Principal, Tony Freeman, thoroughly enjoys the Nateby Club events and today was no exception. Thanking the group for coming together, Mr Freeman shared current news of the School including the high academic and sporting achievements of students, new classroom construction and the announcement of the new Fahan School Principal, Mrs Penny Curran-Peters, who is joining Fahan in July.
“I always enjoy attending the Nateby Club events each year. I am fortunate to get to know the ladies and a highlight is hearing about their continued connection to the School. I look forward to attending my final Nateby Club event before retiring and attending the Launceston Alumni Reunion in April,” said Mr Freeman.
Barbara Edwards (Hinman, Class of 1964) thanked Tony on behalf of the group, for his dedication and contribution to the School for the past 11 years, with those in attendance echoing the sentiment.
The Nateby Club is a means for members of the Fahan Community, including students and staff, to keep in touch with their fellow Alumni at a range of wonderful events each year. In celebrating 50 years since their graduation from Fahan, Alumni are invited to join the Nateby Club and enjoy the benefits of this special association with the School.
