On Tuesday 6 February, Fahan School opened its doors to welcome all students back to school. Playgrounds and corridors were soon alive with the laughter and excitement of Fahan girls returning for the start of another school year.
Principal, Tony Freeman, was delighted to see the girls and is looking forward to showcasing the developments that took place over the Summer. Designed and managed by Tim Penny Architects, the upgrades included the extension of the Gym to create a specialised sports training facility, creation of a dedicated space for the School Archives and the design and development of the Food Technology and Digital Technology Hub at the old Barn site, which is expected to be completed by May.
With the start of the School year also came the School’s annual Service of Investiture of School Leaders assembly. Mr Freeman used the opportunity to remind the girls that leadership at Fahan is about giving back to the Community and empowering others around them.
“These girls have earned their appointments, and now we will work together to ensure a productive year at Fahan,” said Mr Freeman.
Chairman of the Fahan School Board, Charles Badenach, congratulated the 2018 Leaders reminding them of the significance of their role within the School and wider community.
In front of members of the Fahan Community and student body, the following girls were formally inducted as the 2018 Leaders:
